Coffee, Birdsong, a happy cat & Cooler Weather| Please Keep Venezuela in Your Prayers

Coffee, Birdsong, a happy cat & Cooler Weather| Please Keep Venezuela in Your Prayers

After days of relentless heat, today's cooler weather feels like a blessing. We opened up the windows to let the fresh air in and allow the house to ventilate. I will admit, this heat wave was no joke. At times, I experienced anxiety, and I had to remind myself to stay calm and take things one moment at a time. Extreme heat can take a toll not only on our bodies but also on our minds, it is not for the faint of heart. I am grateful that we live in the countryside, surrounded by a few old trees. Each evening, we would sit beneath their shade, enjoying the cool breeze. That became a welcome escape from the relentless heat. Today, the birds are singing again, the flowers seem happier, and even our cat is making the most of the cooler temperature.

As we enjoy this break in the weather, let's also remember those who are facing hardship. Please keep the people of Venezuela in your thoughts and prayers, along with everyone around the world enduring extreme weather and difficult circumstances.

Today, I am simply grateful for cooler temperatures, and for another beautiful day to appreciate life's simple blessings. Happy Monday. Have. fantastic week. #heatwave #goodmorning #venezuela #cheztropic #nature #outdoors #europe #extremeweather #weather #climate #coffee #monday

Baked Chicken

Baked Chicken | Simple Meal Ideas | Cooking Tips       No recipe today, however this is today's cooking tips and a simple meal idea:   Baking Chicken tips:   Rinse the chicken and pat it dry before baking. Once you remove the chicken from its package, rinse it under cool water in the sink (note: always sanitize your sink with disinfectant afterward). Next, pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture will ensure you get extra crispy skin.   To reduce fat and calories, you can skin chicken legs.  Prepare all ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F.   Spices: I like to use cumin, onion (grated) garlic (grated), paprika, celery powder, cayenne pepper and dried thyme if you have. Please make sure they are fresh! Spices are delicious, but a stale spice can easily ruin a dish. However, you are free to try different spice combinations.   The secret to making them crispy? Don't bake the chi...

One Day at a Time

One Day at a Time      Working out takes courage and self-motivation. It’s not always about losing weight — for me, it's about staying healthy, strong, and grateful that I can move. Whether it's Taekwondo or Zumba, my goal is the same: to stay active, to keep my energy flowing, and to enjoy the process — no stress, no pressure, just one day at a time. At my age, it may be harder to see quick results, but that doesn’t stop me. I focus on progress, not perfection. Some days, I don’t even want to leave the house — but that's when I give myself that little pep talk, reminding myself why I'm doing this. And once I start, no matter how tough the session gets, I’m always grateful I showed up. Because being able to move, stretch, kick, and dance is a blessing — health is true wealth. Every workout is a victory over excuses, a reminder that I am stronger than my doubts. Progress may be slow, but as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Slowly but surely — I’m building s...
