Praying for Jamaica and other islands in the path of hurricane Melissa

Heavenly Father, we thank You for carrying Jamaica through Hurricane Melissa. We lift up those affected; comfort every heart, restore what has been lost, and strengthen the nation as it rebuilds. May hope and calm continue to cover the island. We also pray for the other islands still in the path of the hurricane — protect them and keep them safe from harm. Amen. . . #prayersneeded #hurricaneseason #HurricaneMelissa #Melissa #caribbean #prayer #stlucia #Amen #bermuda #Haiti #cuba #travel #catastrophic #insidesaintlucia #ThinkingOfYou #prayingforyou #staystrong #weatherforecast #DearGod #hope #TogetherWeRise #PrayForJamaica #Godisourstrength #caribbeanislands #resilience

Caribbean homemade food | JounenKwéyòl

Caribbean homemade food | JounenKwéyòl    I was so happy to find a few Caribbean staples at a Chinese shop — a little taste of home away from home. This year, I skipped the accra (fish cakes) and floats, but I couldn’t resist my favourite: green banana and saltfish, or as we call it, green fig and saltfish. I prepared it with coconut oil and paired it with fried plantain, cucumber salad, avocado, tomatoes, boiled okra, and a cool glass of lemonade. That delicious Creole meal truly hit the spot — I felt like I was right back home in Saint Lucia! And of course, breakfast wouldn’t be complete without homemade cocoa tea and fried plantain to keep the Creole spirit going. Bon Jounen Kwéyòl.
