A Visit from the Adoption Lady, but Gaïa thought the Lady Came to Take her Back 😹

Last week, a lady from the adoption agency came by for a follow-up visit, to check how Gaïa is settling in and to answer any questions we might have; It's standard procedure. Gaïa recognized her right away! She walked slowly toward her while the lady greeted her softly. We chatted with the lady for a while, updating her on how Gaïa's been doing; her funny habits, her progress, and a few concerns we had about letting her outside. We initially thought she wasn't spayed, but it turns out she is; it was written on her card, and we simply missed it. Still, we've decided to wait a little longer before letting her venture out on her own. When it was time for the lady to leave, she went to say goodbye to Gaïa, but Gaïa suddenly bolted behind the sofa, peeking out nervously. It was as if she thought the lady had come to take her back! We could not stop laughing, even the lady did. Once she left, Gaïa slowly came out of hiding, looking relieved. One thing's for sure—Gaïa definitely doesn't want to go back! 😹🐾💜🐈

Baked Chicken

Baked Chicken | Simple Meal Ideas | Cooking Tips       No recipe today, however this is today's cooking tips and a simple meal idea:   Baking Chicken tips:   Rinse the chicken and pat it dry before baking. Once you remove the chicken from its package, rinse it under cool water in the sink (note: always sanitize your sink with disinfectant afterward). Next, pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture will ensure you get extra crispy skin.   To reduce fat and calories, you can skin chicken legs.  Prepare all ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F.   Spices: I like to use cumin, onion (grated) garlic (grated), paprika, celery powder, cayenne pepper and dried thyme if you have. Please make sure they are fresh! Spices are delicious, but a stale spice can easily ruin a dish. However, you are free to try different spice combinations.   The secret to making them crispy? Don't bake the chi...

One Day at a Time

One Day at a Time      Working out takes courage and self-motivation. It’s not always about losing weight — for me, it's about staying healthy, strong, and grateful that I can move. Whether it's Taekwondo or Zumba, my goal is the same: to stay active, to keep my energy flowing, and to enjoy the process — no stress, no pressure, just one day at a time. At my age, it may be harder to see quick results, but that doesn’t stop me. I focus on progress, not perfection. Some days, I don’t even want to leave the house — but that's when I give myself that little pep talk, reminding myself why I'm doing this. And once I start, no matter how tough the session gets, I’m always grateful I showed up. Because being able to move, stretch, kick, and dance is a blessing — health is true wealth. Every workout is a victory over excuses, a reminder that I am stronger than my doubts. Progress may be slow, but as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Slowly but surely — I’m building s...
