Paris adventure

Bonjour!

Montmartre

It's 11:05 AM and I am seated at my computer looking out the window on a beautiful sunny day in Troyes, France.

Beautiful sunny day in Troyes

I am attempting my first blog, but not sure where to start. I will just taking it easy while I relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, reminisce and great thoughts of  " how my week in Paris was magnificent!" Some great adventure, exploring, meeting up with friends, practicing my French, trying new exquisite cuisine, admiring french architecture with it's awe-inspiring monuments, breath taking structures with lights illuminating the buildings and streets; oh so magical! not forgetting the unique gothic cathedrals.

Statue of Liberty Paris.

Some places I made it my duty to visit. The symbolic Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triompe with it's impressive sculptures, Montmatre which was very interesting and impressive, the medieval Catholic Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris which is beautiful from every angle, relaxing at Pont Alexandre taking in the stunning view, I could not get enough! So many more places to visit. I drove past the world's largest art museum, The Louvre, but I will be back to explore, time was limited.

Arc De Triompe

I was trigger happy of course, why not! I enjoy photographing everything and bringing my photographs to life; so I took lots of photos. Considering the weather was conducive, sunny all week, I took full advantage. Thank goodness I wore comfortable sneakers, because it was hours of walking, the best way to discover the charming City in my opinion and a great way to keep active as well, burning a few calories, especially if you love good food like I do! French cuisine was miammiam!

Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics

I waited many years for this trip, preparing myself, taking French classes in Saint Lucia and in Montreal/Quebec where I lived for four years. I even completed a two year course in "French as a Second Language" I obtained a Diploma. I knew I was ready to discover France, especially Paris. You can add to your bucket list, there will be no regrets. "Was my experience astounding? Absolutely!!! Paris is definitely a must see!"
Alors! back to the moment.

La Defense

I am still seated at my computer, my eyes piercing through the window. It feels good to see the blue sky which reminds me of my beautiful island in the Caribbean; St Lucia! Vacation is almost ended, one month went by too fast, just a couple more days to go before heading back home.  I am happy for this wonderful experience, an extraordinary one.

Oooops I need to get ready, joining friends in Troyes for lunch.

More about my Troyes experience in my next blog. More photos below for your viewing pleasure.

Do enjoy.

Until next time;  bonne journée :)

Baked Chicken

Baked Chicken | Simple Meal Ideas | Cooking Tips       No recipe today, however this is today's cooking tips and a simple meal idea:   Baking Chicken tips:   Rinse the chicken and pat it dry before baking. Once you remove the chicken from its package, rinse it under cool water in the sink (note: always sanitize your sink with disinfectant afterward). Next, pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture will ensure you get extra crispy skin.   To reduce fat and calories, you can skin chicken legs.  Prepare all ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F.   Spices: I like to use cumin, onion (grated) garlic (grated), paprika, celery powder, cayenne pepper and dried thyme if you have. Please make sure they are fresh! Spices are delicious, but a stale spice can easily ruin a dish. However, you are free to try different spice combinations.   The secret to making them crispy? Don't bake the chi...

One Day at a Time

One Day at a Time      Working out takes courage and self-motivation. It’s not always about losing weight — for me, it's about staying healthy, strong, and grateful that I can move. Whether it's Taekwondo or Zumba, my goal is the same: to stay active, to keep my energy flowing, and to enjoy the process — no stress, no pressure, just one day at a time. At my age, it may be harder to see quick results, but that doesn’t stop me. I focus on progress, not perfection. Some days, I don’t even want to leave the house — but that's when I give myself that little pep talk, reminding myself why I'm doing this. And once I start, no matter how tough the session gets, I’m always grateful I showed up. Because being able to move, stretch, kick, and dance is a blessing — health is true wealth. Every workout is a victory over excuses, a reminder that I am stronger than my doubts. Progress may be slow, but as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Slowly but surely — I’m building s...
