Lily & Daisy’s River Adventure
Did You Know Cats Do This?
Lily and Daisy rode their bicycles along the little winding road toward a flower garden not far from the village.
Along the way, the flowers swayed gently in the breeze, and the sun painted everything in warm golden light.
“Milo… no chasing birds today,” Daisy said with a smile.
The girls laughed as the little cat peeked curiously from the basket.
Lily grinned. “I’m keeping my eyes on Dino too,” she giggled.
Daisy pointed ahead. “Look! —a bench by the river! We can stop there… I’m getting hungry.”
Lily. " wow, this place is lovely, the perfect spot for a picnic"
Daisy. "Yes and this could be our favorite little spot too"
They parked their bicycles and sat on the bench while Dino and Milo watched quietly from their baskets.
“What are you eating Daisy, looks delicious?” Lily asked.
“It's yummy, my mom made me a peanut butter sandwich, an apple, and pineapple juice, I love peanut butter, Daisy said happily.
Lily. “Yummy! my mom made me a cheese sandwich, orange juice, and a banana,” Lily smiled.
Daisy “ looks delicious!” our moms are the best cooks, and my dad is a good cook too"
Lily; my dad too, he likes to prepare Caribbean food, so delicious!
Lily giggled. “I think Dino and Milo are hungry too… let’s feed them.”
“Did you know cats don’t meow to each other?” Daisy said curiously.
Lily nodded. “Yes! They only do that with humans.”
Daisy laughed. “I wonder what they say to each other.”
Lily smiled. “Maybe they have their own secret language…”
After their little picnic, they spent some time watching the river, and gently picking a few wildflowers along the path, their petals soft and bright.
Soon, it was time to head home.
With Dino and Milo safe in their baskets, the two best friends rode along the road once more as they rode on, the village getting closer in the warm evening light.
Lily:
“Today was such a lovely adventure… I’m really glad we stopped by the river.”
Daisy:
“Me too… it might be my favorite day yet.”
