The Keeper of Thresholds

 The Keeper of Thresholds

They say the archway was not built. It grew. Root by root, stone by stone, fed by secrets the forest refused to forget. No map marks its location. No traveler finds it by accident. Only those who are listening. The Keeper does not guard the realm beyond — he guards the choice to enter it. Lantern in hand, he walks the same path each dusk, when the veil thins and the air begins to hum. The stream quiets. The fireflies gather. The archway breathes. Beyond it lies no single world. Some nights it opens to a city of glass towers floating in starlight. Other nights, a sea of silver grass beneath two moons. Sometimes, only a mirror of the life you left behind — altered in ways too subtle to name. The Keeper never steps through. His task is not to escape. It is to witness. To hold the light steady for those who tremble at the edge of wonder. To remind them that fear and magic share the same doorway. When the right soul arrives, the lantern burns brighter. The archway awakens. The roots shift, parting like a breath drawn in. And the Keeper asks only one question: “Are you ready to see what has been waiting for you?” Then he steps aside.

Baked Chicken

Baked Chicken | Simple Meal Ideas | Cooking Tips       No recipe today, however this is today's cooking tips and a simple meal idea:   Baking Chicken tips:   Rinse the chicken and pat it dry before baking. Once you remove the chicken from its package, rinse it under cool water in the sink (note: always sanitize your sink with disinfectant afterward). Next, pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture will ensure you get extra crispy skin.   To reduce fat and calories, you can skin chicken legs.  Prepare all ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F.   Spices: I like to use cumin, onion (grated) garlic (grated), paprika, celery powder, cayenne pepper and dried thyme if you have. Please make sure they are fresh! Spices are delicious, but a stale spice can easily ruin a dish. However, you are free to try different spice combinations.   The secret to making them crispy? Don't bake the chi...

One Day at a Time

One Day at a Time      Working out takes courage and self-motivation. It’s not always about losing weight — for me, it's about staying healthy, strong, and grateful that I can move. Whether it's Taekwondo or Zumba, my goal is the same: to stay active, to keep my energy flowing, and to enjoy the process — no stress, no pressure, just one day at a time. At my age, it may be harder to see quick results, but that doesn’t stop me. I focus on progress, not perfection. Some days, I don’t even want to leave the house — but that's when I give myself that little pep talk, reminding myself why I'm doing this. And once I start, no matter how tough the session gets, I’m always grateful I showed up. Because being able to move, stretch, kick, and dance is a blessing — health is true wealth. Every workout is a victory over excuses, a reminder that I am stronger than my doubts. Progress may be slow, but as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Slowly but surely — I’m building s...
