French Countryside Diaries Ep. 5 | From Garden Care to Homemade Dinner

French Countryside Diaries Ep. 5 | From Garden Care to Homemade Dinner

Welcome back to French Countryside Diaries!

Today's peaceful journey begins with a quiet morning coffee and a little time spent with Gaรฏa before closing the shutters to keep the cool air inside during the summer heat.

I prepare a natural plant feed using banana peels and eggshells blended with water before giving the flowers a refreshing drink.

After a few household chores and a relaxing moment reconnecting with nature, my husband spends some time transplanting plants while I prepare a light and healthy lunch of surimi salad and scrambled eggs.

Later in the afternoon, I give an old birdhouse a fresh coat of green paint to restore its charm before ending the day in the kitchen with a comforting homemade eggplant and ground beef bake.

Life doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful. Sometimes, the greatest joy is found in caring for a home, nurturing a garden, preparing a wholesome meal, and appreciating the quiet moments in between.

Thank you so much for spending part of your day with me. I hope today's little moments brought a smile to your heart. Until next time, take care, enjoy the little things in life, and I'll see you in the next Countryside Diaries. See you in the next French Countryside Diary!☕๐ŸŒธ ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฆ

Baked Chicken

Baked Chicken | Simple Meal Ideas | Cooking Tips       No recipe today, however this is today's cooking tips and a simple meal idea:   Baking Chicken tips:   Rinse the chicken and pat it dry before baking. Once you remove the chicken from its package, rinse it under cool water in the sink (note: always sanitize your sink with disinfectant afterward). Next, pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture will ensure you get extra crispy skin.   To reduce fat and calories, you can skin chicken legs.  Prepare all ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F.   Spices: I like to use cumin, onion (grated) garlic (grated), paprika, celery powder, cayenne pepper and dried thyme if you have. Please make sure they are fresh! Spices are delicious, but a stale spice can easily ruin a dish. However, you are free to try different spice combinations.   The secret to making them crispy? Don't bake the chi...

One Day at a Time

One Day at a Time      Working out takes courage and self-motivation. It’s not always about losing weight — for me, it's about staying healthy, strong, and grateful that I can move. Whether it's Taekwondo or Zumba, my goal is the same: to stay active, to keep my energy flowing, and to enjoy the process — no stress, no pressure, just one day at a time. At my age, it may be harder to see quick results, but that doesn’t stop me. I focus on progress, not perfection. Some days, I don’t even want to leave the house — but that's when I give myself that little pep talk, reminding myself why I'm doing this. And once I start, no matter how tough the session gets, I’m always grateful I showed up. Because being able to move, stretch, kick, and dance is a blessing — health is true wealth. Every workout is a victory over excuses, a reminder that I am stronger than my doubts. Progress may be slow, but as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Slowly but surely — I’m building s...
